Since its foundation in the 1980s, Birco has been primarily involved in the installation of air brake systems in a wide variety of commercial vehicles and industrial trucks. For decades, it has been a partner to well-known manufacturers of intralogistics vehicles, equipping their industrial trucks with compressed air systems so that they can safely tow and brake high trailer loads. We also regularly equip diesel, LPG or electric forklift trucks from brand manufacturers Still and Linde with compressed air braking systems.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The installation of air brakes on electric tow tractors is our core product &#8211; our air brake systems for Jungheinrich, Linde and Still electric tow tractors work automatically and are integrated into the tractor&#8217;s braking system. The system pressure is shown on the vehicle&#8217;s display and error messages are output there. Our air brake system is approved by the brand manufacturer for your particular vehicle and brakes the trailer in the same way as the tractor. The air brake systems have also recently (end of 2025) been equipped with a tear-off detection of the yellow line. If the yellow line breaks, the trailer is emergency braked via the red line. This allows the T\u00dcV to certify that the tractor is compliant with Regulation (EU) 2018\/858. With the appropriate equipment, the vehicle can be authorised for road traffic throughout the EU. We make sure that the view to the rear remains as clear as possible! The system pressure is displayed on a pressure gauge in the cab. It is used for loading trains at different heights. The loading flaps on the right and left of the basket with safety grid can be used to load at different heights. The hydraulic pump has a delivery rate of 27 l\/min and is fed via a 40 l oil tank. The hydraulic connections are selected by the customer. Operation is possible from the driver&#8217;s cab or on the power unit. A compressed air system has also been installed on the tractor with dual-circuit hydraulics for safe braking of heavy trailers, even on slopes. The connections are at the front and rear. In addition, both the duomatic connection and yellow\/red coupling heads were selected.
